In recent days, disturbing reports regarding the sale of substandard and unfit food items in the Kashmir Valley have sparked public concern and dismay. Both the government and social organizations have taken commendable steps to address this issue.
However, the authorities and all responsible institutions must take strict and immediate action against such unethical practices, ensuring that all individuals and businesses involved are held accountable under the law. These remarks were delivered by the Chairman of Karwan-e-Islami International and spiritual guide, Allama Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, during a special Friday sermon at Markazi Jamia Masjid Sharif, Haji Chak, Shopian, before a gathering of thousands.
Allama Hami strongly condemned those engaged in the sale of narcotics and defective goods, stressing the urgent need for the public to remain vigilant against such individuals. He warned that these elements are responsible for the moral, spiritual, and physical decline of society, and their actions jeopardize the community’s wealth, health, and security.
Issuing a stern warning to those involved in such immoral and unlawful activities, Allama Hami urged them to immediately desist from endangering the lives of innocent people. He cautioned that their misdeeds would inevitably lead to disgrace in both this world and the Hereafter. He further emphasized that the true success of a nation lies in God-consciousness, adherence to the law, and the preservation of social values — qualities that define a conscious and vibrant society. Within these principles, he said, lie safety, dignity, and collective prosperity.
Allama Hami highlighted that the spoken and practical teachings of the saints and pure-hearted Sufis serve as radiant beams of light amidst the moral darkness and waywardness of the present age. By embodying these teachings, both internal and external corruption can be eradicated, enabling individuals to rediscover their true selves.
He further noted that by sincerely applying the guidance of the friends of Allah, it is possible to eliminate the various moral ailments afflicting contemporary society and to lay the foundation for a peaceful and enduring social order. Allama Hami concluded by urging every individual to implement the teachings of the perfected saints within their homes, thus safeguarding themselves and their families from loss in both this world and the Hereafter.
