Combination of Contemporary, Religious Education Need of the Hour: Hami
Ameer of Karwani Islami International, Allama Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, has stressed that in the present age, along with producing experts in contemporary sciences, it is equally essential to prepare firmly grounded scholars and memorizers of the Holy Qur’an (Huffaz). Only through this balance can society find the best possible solutions to its challenges and generate new ideas for human and social development.
Delivering a special Friday sermon at Khanqah Faiz Panah, Charar Sharif, Allama Hami described education as one of the greatest blessings of Almighty Allah.
He stated that education refines human personality, enhances intellectual ability, and enlightens the spiritual and moral dimensions of life. An educated person not only excels individually but also uplifts the entire society, which truly transforms for the better.
On the occasion, Huffaz from Darsgah Sheikh-ul-Alam were awarded certificates, and graduating students were honored with traditional turbans (Dastarbandi) under the patronage of Allama Hami.
He emphasized that the combination of religious and worldly education is the real need of the time. Such a composite education, he noted, serves as the finest source for scientific, social, and moral progress, without which a complete and balanced society cannot be achieved.
Furthermore, Allama Hami expressed grave concern over adulteration in food items, especially meat and poultry, and underlined the urgent need for public awareness. He highlighted that traders and business circles must be educated about distinguishing between pure and impure, lawful (Halal) and unlawful (Haram) items. In this regard, he said, scholars and intellectuals bear a great responsibility.
He also suggested that social media could play a highly effective role in spreading this awareness. Allama Hami asserted that pure and hygienic food is not only a legal right but also a religious and moral entitlement of every individual, which cannot be compromised. Hence, it is obligatory upon traders and business people to deal only in clean and lawful food products.
