Janta Dal United (JDU) on Tuesday launched a statewide membership drive from Srinagar, marking the beginning of a major organisational outreach across Jammu and Kashmir. The party leadership called upon people, particularly youth, professionals, workers and grassroots activists, to join JDU and contribute to what it described as a larger national cause.
Addressing party workers and supporters, JDU leaders said Jammu and Kashmir needs visionary, issue-based and nationally aligned politics, instead of what they termed narrow and self-serving agendas of local parties. They urged citizens to rise above regional politics and associate with a platform committed to national unity, constitutional values, inclusive growth and accountable governance.
The party said the membership drive aims to build a strong and disciplined organisation at booth, block and district levels, ensuring deeper public connect and effective representation of people’s aspirations. JDU reaffirmed its commitment to work for peace, development, employment and dignity for all citizens, asserting that a strong Jammu and Kashmir can be achieved through national integration, honest leadership and transparent governance.
