Young Scientist from India Honored at International Conference

Dr. Megna Rashid Bakshi, a female agroforestry scientist from Kashmir, has been awarded the prestigious Young Agroforestry Scientist Award at the 13th International Conference on “Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry & Allied Sciences for Sustainable Himalayan Ecosystem (ICAHFAS-2026).”

The conference was jointly organized by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education – Himalayan Forest Research Institute (ICFRE-HFRI), Shimla, in collaboration with the National Medicinal Plant Board and ISAHRD Society, New Delhi.
Dr. Bakshi’s recognition highlights her significant contributions to sustainable agroforestry practices, particularly in the Himalayan region. 

Her work is widely appreciated for promoting environmentally responsible and scientifically innovative approaches in the field.

This achievement marks a proud moment for Kashmir, as she continues to inspire young researchers, especially women in science, through her dedication, consistent efforts, and growing impact on agroforestry research at both national and international levels.
