Lolab’s Renowned Writer and Social Activist Remembered on His 4th Death Anniversary

The 4th death anniversary of noted writer and social activist Nazir Jowhar father of Lolab MLA Qaiser Jamsheed Lone was observed today with reverence and respect in Sogam area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Nazir Jowhar passed away on 5 May 2022. His literary and social contributions are still remembered fondly, and he continues to live in the hearts of the people.

He was not only an accomplished writer but also a dedicated social worker who consistently used his pen to raise the voice of the people before the authorities. His efforts helped highlight public issues and brought significant benefits to the region.

His demise was a great loss not only for Lolab but for the entire district.

Throughout his life, he faced many hardships with courage.
It is worth mentioning that despite the tragic killing of his two brothers, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Lone by unknown gunmen, the family continued to play an important role in serving the people.

Recognizing these sacrifices, the people of the area did not ignore the contributions of the family but extended their support. One of his sons, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, was elected as MLA Lolab, while another son, Nasir Nazir Lone, was elected as DDC Sogam. Both continue to serve the people of the region.

After the Fatiha Khwani (prayer ceremony), MLA Lolab Qaiser Jamsheed Lone held a meeting with party workers.

During the meeting, he presented details of the work carried out during his one-year tenure and assured the public that the government would fulfill every promise.
He stated that previous ministers and MLAs could not accomplish in ten years what he had achieved in just one year and vowed to continue his efforts in the future.

Criticizing the PDP, he said that despite having strong representation in the past, no significant development work was carried out in Lolab, and people were left facing difficulties.

He urged the public to prepare for the upcoming Panchayat elections and bring forward educated individuals who can represent the people effectively. He warned that various political parties are trying to mislead the public and advised people to remain cautious and choose their Sarpanchs and Panchs wisely for a better future.

He added that in the coming time, with the efforts of the National Conference government and his own initiatives, development projects will be launched across Lolab, which will also create employment opportunities.

At the conclusion of the event, people from different walks of life paid rich tributes to Nazir Jowhar and prayed for his eternal peace.
