Chief Secretary Reviews Machail Yatra Arrangements, Emphasises Pilgrim Safety

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Monday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the annual Machail Mata Yatra in Kishtwar, scheduled to commence in August, with special focus on pilgrim safety, disaster mitigation and crowd management.

The meeting reviewed implementation of online and RFID-based registration systems, installation of Automatic Rain Gauges and Automatic Weather Stations for real-time alerts, landslide mitigation measures and detailed SOPs for pilgrim movement. Elaborate accommodation arrangements are being made at Kishtwar, Gulabgarh, Chishoti and Machail, including a dedicated tent city at Machail.

Medical camps, ambulance services, emergency response teams and first-aid facilities will be established at key locations. All departments were directed to coordinate closely to ensure uninterrupted water, power, sanitation and communication services throughout the Yatra.
