Heavy rainfall triggered a major landslide near the 540 MW Kwar Power Project in Kishtwar on Sunday, burying several vehicles under debris. No casualties were immediately reported.

Officials said multiple vehicles sustained extensive damage and remained trapped beneath the debris, while clearance operations were launched to retrieve the vehicles and restore the affected area.

Meanwhile, the Jammu-Kishtwar National Highway remained closed at Prem Nagar in Doda due to heavy rainfall and landslides. The administration has issued a heavy rain alert and advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and follow official advisories.
