Record 9,837 Pilgrims Leave Jammu for Amarnath Yatra

A record 9,837 pilgrims on Wednesday departed from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal, marking the largest single-day batch of this year's Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

Officials said the seventh batch travelled in 361 vehicles, with 5,337 pilgrims heading to Pahalgam and 4,500 to Baltal. The 57-day pilgrimage, which began on July 3, is being conducted under a multi-layered security arrangement and will conclude on August 28 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
