Srinagar recorded its hottest day of the season on Saturday as the maximum temperature touched 35.9ยฐC, while the Meteorological Department forecast a major change in weather from July 19 to 23.

The MeT has predicted widespread rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in parts of the Jammu division, particularly Reasi and Udhampur districts.

The department has warned of flash floods, landslides, mudslides, rising river levels and waterlogging, advising people to avoid vulnerable areas during heavy rainfall and urging farmers to suspend agricultural activities during the forecast period.
