The Jammu and Kashmir Government will take a final decision on Sunday on whether to extend the ongoing summer vacation in schools after reviewing the prevailing weather conditions, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said.
She said the government is closely monitoring the weather and that the health and well-being of students remain its top priority.
Schools in the Kashmir Division and winter zones of the Jammu Division are currently scheduled to reopen after the summer break ending on July 19, while the Meteorological Department has forecast continued heatwave conditions followed by heavy rainfall from July 20 to 23.
