Parts of Srinagar witnesses restrictions

Srinagar: Strict restrictions were imposed on Friday by authorities in some parts of Srinagar after the killing of two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants including top commander Abu Ismail yesterday in Nowgam Srinagar.

Abu Ismail and his associate were killed in a brief gunfight in Aribagh Nowgam in an encounter with govt forces last night. Areas falling under the police stations like Khaniyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj and Safa Kadal have been clamped with prohibitory orders following the killing of two LeT militants.

Large number of cops has been deployed and barricades of barbed wires have been installed at various points of the city to stop any untoward incident. All educational institutions in Srinagar district and other areas of the valley were closed by authorities to prevent protests and any kind of violence or stone pelting from these students.
