No Propaganda or Pressure Can Defeat Us, Says Allama Hami; Vows to Expose Alcohol and Drug Lobbies

Allama Sheikh Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, head and supreme leader of Tehreek Karwani Islami International, on Friday said that no propaganda or pressure could derail the organisation’s mission, asserting that forces promoting alcohol and narcotics in Kashmir would soon be “laid bare.”

Addressing a large Friday congregation at the Central Jamia Masjid Sakhi Zain-ud-Din Wali (RA) in YariGund Kawoosa, Allama Hami said the path of truth has always been marked by trials and hardships. Referring to Islamic history, he said the martyrdom of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Husain (RA) and his companions, and the persecution faced by eminent jurists such as Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Imam Bukhari demonstrated that patience and steadfastness are essential for upholding truth.

According to organisers, thousands of people, including a large number of youth, attended the congregation.

Allama Hami said that Tehreek Karwani Islami International would not be deterred by hardships or what he described as deliberate propaganda campaigns. “Karwani Islami is a strong and organised platform for believers who stand for intellect, wisdom and humanity,” he said, adding that all institutions associated with the movement constitute a collective trust of the Muslim Ummah.

He stated that the organisation’s mission is rooted in the promotion and preservation of the Qur’an, the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and the teachings of Awliya and Sufi saints, and said this mission would continue unabated. He also asserted that the movement would not bow before what he termed “falsehood or Yazidi forces,” claiming spiritual lineage from Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) and the legacy of Imam Hasan and Imam Husain (RA).

Strongly condemning the spread of drugs and alcohol, Allama Hami alleged that organised groups were working to promote intoxication in Kashmir for personal gains. He said such elements would soon be exposed, adding that Kashmir, known as the land of saints and Sufis, had no place for alcohol and narcotics.

“Kashmir has produced countless Rishis, Qalandars, saints and spiritual personalities, and many revered Sufis from across the world are buried here,” he said. “This sacred land cannot accept the culture of intoxication.”

Reiterating the organisation’s long-standing stance, Allama Hami said Tehreek Karwani Islami International had remained committed for over two decades to the eradication of alcohol and drugs and would continue its efforts until their complete elimination is achieved.
