The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast a spell of unsettled weather in Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with intermittent rain and thundershowers expected across several regions.
According to MeT Srinagar, April 30 will remain partly cloudy with brief spells of light rain and thunderstorms at scattered places towards afternoon and late afternoon hours. The weather is expected to remain generally dry from May 1 to 2, with a possibility of brief showers during afternoon hours.
“From May 3 to 5, generally cloudy conditions are expected with one or two spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds (40–50 kmph) at a few locations,” the MeT office said.
A relatively dry spell is likely from May 6 to 9, although isolated brief showers cannot be ruled out.
Issuing an advisory, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar has urged farmers to suspend farm operations between May 3 and 5 in view of the expected rainfall, gusty winds and thunderstorms that may affect crops and agricultural activities.
