The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain, thundershowers and gusty winds at scattered to many places across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, followed by a generally dry spell on May 17 and 18. Another round of light rain and thundershowers is expected at scattered areas on May 19 and 20.
The department has warned of thunder, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40 to 50 kilometres per hour at a few places in both divisions. Authorities have advised suspension of boating and shikara rides on Dal Lake and other water bodies during vulnerable afternoon hours.
