A police Sub-Inspector allegedly shot his wife dead following a domestic dispute at a police camp in the Kandi area of Kupwara district during the night, officials said.
The officer, identified as Deep Singh, an ex-Army personnel who later joined the police, allegedly opened fire on his wife during an altercation, killing her on the spot. He also sustained injuries in the incident and was shifted to a military hospital.
Police have registered a case and begun investigation.
