The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet against a retired Superintendent Engineer of the J&K State Power Development Corporation for allegedly manipulating his date of birth in official service records to secure undue service benefits.
Investigation revealed the accused changed his date of birth from October 28, 1955 to October 28, 1958 — effectively adding three years to his service tenure. The manipulation was confirmed through FSL Srinagar and J&K BOSE verification reports. He also allegedly destroyed his original service book to conceal evidence, leading to additional charges under Section 201 RPC.
The chargesheet has been filed before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar in FIR No. 09/2015 under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 201 RPC.
