Srinagar Police on Monday clarified that claims circulating on social media about alleged damage or desecration of copies of the Holy Quran in parts of Srinagar are completely baseless and unverified, and warned of strict legal action against those spreading misinformation.
Police urged all media organisations, social media users and the general public to refrain from sharing or forwarding unverified content, cautioning that such false narratives can create panic, disturb public order and adversely affect communal harmony.
