Third Batch of Amarnath Pilgrims Leaves Jammu

A fresh batch of 4,812 pilgrims departed from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu on Saturday for the annual Amarnath Yatra under multi-layered security arrangements. The pilgrims left for the Baltal and Pahalgam base camps in a convoy of 259 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the second batch of pilgrims began the trek from the Baltal and Nunwan base camps towards the holy cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas. Pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the elaborate security arrangements put in place for the pilgrimage.

The 57-day Amarnath Yatra, which commenced on July 3, will conclude on August 28 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
