Geelani leaves for Sopore in north Kashmir; to visit daughter after son-in-law’s demise

Srinagar: Octogenarian Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani Thursday left for Sopore in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district where his eldest daughter who lost her husband two days back. Geelani, who continues to be under house detention since 2010 was allowed to move towards Sopore to visit his aggrieved daughter, left at around 1pm from his Hyderpora residence.

Geelani’s son-in-law Ghulam Hassan Makhdoomi  died in SKIMS on Tuesday night, but he could not attend the funeral prayers owing to ailing health and bad weather conditions.
