The anti-drug campaign under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” is gaining momentum in the Kashmir Valley. Under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor, both the local administration and the central government are actively working to make this campaign successful.
The main aim is to make Jammu and Kashmir free from drugs and to protect the youth from this harmful menace.
As part of this initiative, several important personalities are visiting the Valley on the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs to promote public awareness.
In this connection, former DGP SS Sindhu visited Srinagar today and met various youth delegations. He informed them about the harmful effects of drugs and their social and psychological consequences. He urged the youth to use their energy in positive activities and play an active role in building society.
During the interaction, SS Sindhu also listened to the views of the youth and discussed the challenges they face. He said that the fight against drugs is not only the responsibility of the government but requires the involvement of every member of society. He appealed to parents, teachers, and social workers to guide the youth and work together to protect them from this menace.
Later, he also held discussions with United Times Editor-in-Chief Iftikhar Hussain on various issues.
On this occasion, he said that the central government is serious about eliminating drugs from Jammu and Kashmir and is making efforts at all levels to ensure the success of this campaign. He added that keeping the youth away from drugs is essential for building a healthy and capable society.
SS Sandhu further said that several steps have been taken in recent years for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. Frequent visits by central ministers show the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people, especially the youth. He expressed hope that with collective efforts, this campaign will succeed and the region will move towards a brighter and safer future.
