Bandipora court upholds CJM’s Masrat Alam release order

 

Srinagar: Court in Bandipora has upheld the order of the CJM of the disitrct which had directed the police to release from jail Muslim Leauge’s Chairman Masarat Alam.

Muslim League Legal secretary Shah Riyaz told KNS that Alam was booked by police in Sumbal, Bandipora under FIR no. 53/2015 and subsequently arrested him.

“Our legal cell filed an appeal before the CJM Bandipora for his release. Three weeks ago, the CJM accepted the appeal and after hearing the case, the CJM ordered the police to release Alam,” Riyaz told KNS.

He said that the police through its prosecution filed an appeal against the CJM order in District and Sessions Court in Bandipora, which Monday

District and Sessions judge Bandipora Monday upheld the CJM order to release Alam from jail, he said.
