SOPORE: Shortage of drinking water triggers protest in Botengoo area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
Protesters blocked Sopore_Bandipora road to demand drinking water. The protesters were raising anti government and anti-PHE slogans, alleging that the PHE Division Sopore for failed to provide water in this holy month of Ramdan.
This is not first time we have been faced this kind of problem but in this holly month of Ramzan it is very difficult to manage water, said group of people to The Kashmir Age.
Chanting anti PHE slogans the villagers alleged that despite repeated pleas to the concerned department nothing was done, and only forced us to hit on roads.
Meanwhile when contacted Executive Engineer of PHE Division Sopore told The Kashmir Monitor that due to the electricity problem our gauge is not working which makes public suffer, he said it was windstorm again last night which affects power supply line again, however he assured we are working on it and within no time they will get water as per schedule.
