JJB Kupwara Inspects Observation Home Harwan, Reviews Living Conditions and Rehabilitation Measures

The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Kupwara on Thursday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Observation Home at Harwan, Srinagar. The inspection was led by Principal Magistrate Mudasir Bashir, accompanied by the Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) and the Legal-cum-Probation Officer.

 

During the visit, the Superintendent of the Observation Home facilitated an extensive tour of the facility, covering residential blocks, educational classrooms, recreational sections, and medical units. The team assessed the living environment, hygiene standards, infrastructure, and the safety and security arrangements in place for the juveniles.

 

Principal Magistrate Mudasir Bashir and the accompanying officers also interacted with the juveniles to gauge their well-being, understand their concerns, and review their progress in various rehabilitation and counselling programmes.

 

In addition, the inspection team thoroughly examined the legal and administrative records pertaining to all juveniles residing at the Home, ensuring that due procedures were being followed in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Act.
