At least five residential structures and one shop were gutted in a fire that broke out at Tachhana in the Dachhan area in Kishtwar.
Official sources told GNS, the information was received from the Incharge Station House Officer of Police Station Dachhan. The blaze damaged multiple houses, leaving several families affected.
The affected households include those of Liyaqat Ali, Bashir Ahmed, Zunbran Ali, Wasim Akram Mir, Nadeem Akram, Tousif Akram, Firdous Ahmed, Mohammad Yasin, Mohammad Yousuf, Ismail Mir and Abdul Kabir. A shop owned by Imtiaz Ahmed was also destroyed in the incident.
Police personnel and officials of 17 Rashtriya Rifles, Delta Company, reached the spot and launched firefighting operations. Officials said the fire was brought under control after sustained efforts.
No loss of life has been reported, even as the cause of the fire was not immediately known, while an assessment of losses is underway. (GNS)
