JDU J&K President Meets LG Over Power Crisis

Jammu and Kashmir President G.M. Shaheen on Tuesday met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and held a detailed discussion on the worsening power crisis affecting large parts of the Union Territory.

During the meeting, Shaheen highlighted the acute hardships being faced by the general public due to prolonged power outages and erratic electricity supply. He said the situation has caused severe inconvenience to domestic consumers and has adversely impacted commercial establishments and small businesses, disrupting daily life and economic activity.

Terming the current scenario as having crossed tolerable limits, the JDU leader urged the administration to take immediate corrective measures. He demanded time-bound action to stabilise power supply and sought direct relief for electricity consumers to mitigate public distress.

Shaheen also stressed that the continuing power crisis has eroded public confidence and called for urgent administrative intervention to address the issue on priority.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, according to Shaheen, listened patiently to the concerns raised and assured him that the administration is fully seized of the matter and that necessary steps are being taken to improve the power supply situation across the Union Territory.
