A 10-year-old boy was injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Check Keller area of South Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday, officials said.

The injured child has been identified as Sahil Ahmad Gakhad, son of Mohammad Ishaq Gakhad, a resident of Mastpora, Check Keller.

According to officials, the vehicle allegedly struck the minor and fled from the scene, leaving him injured.

The boy was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Keller for initial treatment and was later referred to District Hospital Pulwama for specialized medical care.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident, while the vehicle involved in the accident remains unidentified. Further details are awaited. (KNT)
