A man lost his life and his wife was left in a critical condition after a massive tree was uprooted by strong winds and fell on the couple near the Ganjiwara area of Anantnag town on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Kujwal, a resident of Brariangan, Shangus. His wife, Marina, remains under treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag in critical condition.
According to officials, the tree was brought down by strong winds, crashing onto the couple and simultaneously disrupting traffic on the busy Lal Chowk–GMC Anantnag road.
