CM Omar Takes Ministers, MLAs to Dachigam for 19-Month Govt Review

In an unexpected move, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday led ministers and National Conference MLAs to the scenic Dachigam National Park on the outskirts of Srinagar for an offsite meeting to review the performance of the NC-led government over the past 19 months.

The participants assembled at Gupkar in the morning before heading to Dachigam in SRTC vehicles, in what was described as a stock-taking exercise covering all aspects of the government's functioning since coming to power.

Announcing the offsite on social media platform X, CM Omar wrote candidly: "We are off for an offsite to spend the day taking stock of the last 19 months — the good, the not so good, and everything in between."

The informal yet focused setting of Dachigam National Park, away from the corridors of power, signals the Chief Minister's intent for an open and candid assessment of the government's achievements, shortcomings and the road ahead.
