2 militant associates arrested in Pulwama, say police
Police arrested two militant associates linked with LeT in Gudoora area of Pulwama district on Friday and recovered incriminating materials from their possession.
In a statement, issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said that acting on specific intelligence input, an intensive search was conducted by Police in the apple orchards of Gudoora.
The statement reads that during search operation, 2 militant associates were apprehended tactfully.
They have been identified as Suhail Firdous son of Firdous Ahmad Sheikh of Mahradpora Utterpora Puchal and Shahid Gul son of Gh Mohd. Bhat of Wagum Pulwama.
“ From their possession incriminating materials were recovered. The investigation revealed that both the accused are terrorist associates of an active terrorist Aqib Sher Gojri linked with proscribed militant outfit LeT,” it reads.
It added that preliminary investigation also reveals that they were in a conspiracy with terrorist Aqib Sher-Gojri to carry out militant attacks in Pulwama.
“ A case vide FIR No. 239/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up,” it reads—(KNO)
