LG Summons J&K Legislative Assembly Session Next Month

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Saturday Summoned the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory to convene its next session at Jammu on February 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM. 

As per an official summon issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat a copy of which accessed by news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the order has been issued by the Lieutenant Governor under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019. 

Accordingly, all Hon’ble Members of the Legislative Assembly have been requested to make it convenient to attend the session on the appointed date, time and venue, it reads.

In a separate bulletin, the Legislative Assembly Secretariat informed that the Lieutenant Governor will also address the House on February 2, 2026, in exercise of powers under Section 21(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.

The Secretariat has further invited Members to submit notices for legislative business ahead of the session. Members may submit up to ten starred and ten unstarred questions by or before January 12, 2026, in relaxation of the relevant rules. Notices for up to two Bills can be submitted by January 15, 2026, while notices for up to four resolutions are to be sent by January 17, 2026.

All submissions are to be made in accordance with the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the bulletin added. (KNC)
