The Srinagar Chemists and Distributors Association (SCDA) have extended full support to the nationwide shutdown call given by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) on May 20 in protest against the sale of medicines through online and e-pharmacy platforms.
Association General Secretary Syed Zulifqar while addressing Media said that medical stores across Srinagar are expected to observe the bandh in solidarity with chemists and druggists across the country who is demanding stricter regulation of online medicine sales. The strike is aimed at raising concerns over alleged irregularities in e-pharmacy operations, prescription compliance, and the impact on traditional retail pharmacies.
He said that online platforms are affecting the business of small medical stores by offering heavy discounts and faster delivery services
