Allama Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, Chief of Karwani Islami International, on Friday addressed a large gathering at Central Jamia Masjid Sarfraw Gund, Kangan, stressing that intellectual progress and moral excellence can only be achieved through education and that the anti-drug campaign must be expanded to include a ban on alcohol.
Allama Hami said the growing neglect of moral and character-building education in favour of purely worldly pursuits is contributing to social deterioration and crime. He urged policymakers and educational institutions to incorporate moral education into every curriculum so children grow up as responsible citizens of exemplary character.
On the anti-drug campaign, he appreciated the LG and administration's efforts while calling for its expansion to cover alcohol, which he said is frequently among the leading causes of serious crime and social disorder. He urged the administration to take meaningful steps toward restricting alcohol in the region, expressing confidence that such measures would greatly enhance peace and prosperity.
