Kulgam Police have solved the hit-and-run case that claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl in Vessu by arresting the accused from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, six days after the incident.
Police said the accused, Arun Gupta of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, had fled to Lucknow after allegedly concealing the vehicle involved in Bareilly to evade arrest. Following an extensive investigation involving CCTV analysis, technical surveillance and coordination with Uttar Pradesh Police, the accused was apprehended and the vehicle seized.
The case is being investigated under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
