Poonch, April 11: A soldier was injured after Pakistani army violated ceasefire violation along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports reaching GNS said that the soldier namely Sepoy Rajesh Reddy of 12 Madras sustained splinter injury in the shelling near LoC in Kerni and Mendhar sectors last night.

Reddy was immediately shifted to a hospital in Rajouri for treatment, they said.

“On 11 Apr 2020 at about 0950 hours, Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms & intense shelling with Mortars along LoC in Kirni sector, District Poonch (J&K),” a defense spokesman said.

Indian Army is retaliating befittingly, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, two residential houses got damaged after fresh shelling erupted near LoC in Mendhar and Balakote sectors of the border district. (GNS)
