A delegation of the Traders Federation Baramulla, led by its president Er. Tariq Ahmad Mugloo, on Tuesday met State Taxes Officer (STO) Baramulla, Majeed-ul-Islam, to discuss the implementation of recent GST reforms in the district.
The delegation, comprising office bearers of the federation, held detailed discussions on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) changes introduced towards the end of last year. The members raised concerns, shared feedback from the trading community, and sought clarity on various aspects of the revised tax framework.
During the meeting, the federation invited the STO to attend an awareness programme at its office aimed at educating traders about the functioning of the new GST system and related laws. The delegation emphasized the need for greater outreach and capacity-building initiatives to ensure smooth compliance among local businesses.
The traders’ body also assured full cooperation with the State Taxes Department in facilitating the effective implementation of GST provisions.
Appreciating the initiative, STO Baramulla Majeed-ul-Islam lauded the cooperation extended by the traders and their representatives. He expressed willingness to engage with the business community and support awareness efforts to strengthen understanding of the tax system.
