CIK Raids 8 Locations Across Six J&K Districts

Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wednesday carried out coordinated raids at eight locations across six districts of Jammu and Kashmir as part of an ongoing investigation into terror-related activities, officials said.

The searches were conducted across Srinagar, Bandipora, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam and Sopore (Baramulla district) in a case registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Arms Act and Foreigners Act.

According to officials, the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence inputs, technical surveillance and evidence gathered during the course of the investigation. The suspects are being probed for alleged links with Pakistan-based terror handlers through encrypted communication platforms, as well as involvement in radicalisation, dissemination of extremist content and providing logistical support to terror networks.

The raids aimed at recovering incriminating material, uncovering terror linkages and identifying associates, facilitators and overground workers (OGWs). Officials confirmed that all legal formalities were completed and search warrants were obtained from a competent court prior to the operations, which were carried out under tight security with the assistance of technical teams.

Further investigation in the case is underway, officials added.
