Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said he will raise several key administrative and governance issues, including the Transaction of Business Rules of the Union Territory, the appointment of the Advocate General, and the reservation issue, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a meeting scheduled for the day.
Speaking to reporters, the CM said statehood would also feature in the discussions, as it does in every meeting with the Home Minister.
"Wish we could have got statehood through one meeting — we would have achieved it long back. It is a continuous process, but I raise the demand for statehood whenever I meet him," he said.
Omar added that the reservation issue, which has been referred to New Delhi by the Lieutenant Governor, along with the Business Rules and the Advocate General's appointment, warranted direct discussion with the Home Minister.
"It is better to discuss these issues, along with other issues, with the Home Minister. Today I will discuss these issues along with other matters," he said.
