Chief of Karwani Islami International, Allama Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, addressed thousands of devotees at the sacred site of Aasaar Shareef Makhama on the occasion of Jummah-tul-Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.
According to reports, a large number of people from different parts of the Kashmir Valley, including a significant presence of youth, participated in the gathering.
In his address, Allama Hami said that the entire blessed month of Ramadan overflows with the mercy and forgiveness of Allah, while Jummah-tul-Wida presents a valuable opportunity for believers to repent and seek divine grace and salvation.
Highlighting the virtues and significance of the day in the light of the Quran and Hadith, he urged people to sincerely offer Tawbah Nasuh (sincere repentance) and seek the pleasure of Allah both in this world and the Hereafter.
Referring to the divisions and chaos prevailing in contemporary society, the Karwani Islami chief said that civilised and justice-loving nations do not endorse such deviations, which he described as a cause for the decline of blessings. He called upon people to firmly adhere to the Quran and Sunnah and follow the Seerah of the righteous and Awliya of the Ummah, saying that this would help society distinguish between truth and falsehood and eliminate discord.
Dr. Hami said that distancing from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet weakens faith in society and leads to ignorance about the realities of Tawhid (Oneness of God) and Risalat (Prophethood). He urged people to equip themselves and future generations with religious knowledge so that they can practically uphold the rights of Allah and the rights of fellow human beings.
He also stressed the importance of supporting the poor and needy, saying that wealthy Muslims must fulfil their obligation of Zakat and Sadaqat by reaching out to those who deserve assistance.
Addressing the growing menace of drug abuse, Allama Hami warned that drugs are more destructive than deadly poison, as they ruin individuals and devastate families, generations and society at large. He appealed to people to protect their families and communities from drugs in every possible way.
