The first phase of the nationwide census exercise, known as ‘House Listing’ or housing enumeration, commenced today, marking the beginning of a crucial data collection process across the country.
On the opening day, individuals were encouraged to participate through self-enumeration by filling out the official form online from their residences.
Officials said the census exercise plays a vital role in accelerating India’s development journey and ensuring that government welfare schemes effectively reach every citizen.
Authorities have also informed that census teams will soon visit households to carry out the enumeration process. Citizens have been urged to cooperate fully and provide accurate information during the survey.
In addition, people have the option to complete the process themselves through the designated online platform by submitting the required details.
The government emphasized that active public participation is essential for the success of the census, which serves as a key tool for planning, policy-making, and resource allocation.
